[5.8.-7.8. Poznan] I already wanted to visit Lukasz in may but i couldn´t afford it while i was living in denmark, so we made an appointment for a couple of month later. Lukasz could finally pick me up from the trainstation, i got rid of my luggage and we went out for some food and an odyssee of polish beer brands to the center of Poznan. It´s a pretty town especially in the center but you can still see the traces of a few decades of communism - modernism meets history. As Lukasz told me there are more than 3000 Bars, Pubs, Restaurants and Clubs and approximately 60.000 students - so really different from Odense or Kiel. First night we made a pub crawl and he showed me some of his favourite spots in town. There´s also a polish Smagløse (well, it looks like but the beer is cheaper) and we got quite wasted. We decided to eat something and then take a cab back home. I chose french fries while Lukasz voted for a Tortilla-Wrap... a decision he regretted the next morning, because he was spending all the night in the bathroom throwing up! But thanx to his endurance, he showed me around all day, visiting the main "tourist-spots", shopping malls (i needed shoes), botanical garden and his university, while the rain, that was already following me since Strasbourg catched me again in Poznan. Poland is quite a nice country which is much cheaper than denmark (Cheeseburger at McDo 2,- Zloty, a cab for 20 minutes 20,- Zlotys!) and for sure i have to go back, next time with a little bit of sunshine... Btw, it´s impossible to buy icecream in polish cinemas!
